CalWest's partner school in the Bay Area seeks an experienced Math Teacher to begin July 2025. Interviews will be conducted in December.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Master's degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop curriculum and teach the full range of our courses, from Algebra 1 through college-level mathematics.
- Ensure lesson plans are engaging and active, which supports a positive classroom management program.
- Teach five courses sequentially during the year, with each running two hours per day for six weeks.
- Teach courses spanning a range of topics, from combinatorics to calculus to number theory.
- Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to math or the successful candidate’s interests.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students on projects.
